CAl.E.'s Korner

C.: Tucker, I’m glad that you’re better. I went to see Tom last night, and he and I got all your money back, along with a bonus for him…

Tux.: Did you stay with Tom last night?

C.: Yes, but it was purely platonic. I only stayed at his house to save time. We needed all of the time we could muster to carry out his plan.

Tux.: Where I come from, when a queen and a tomcat spend the night together, they’re engaged. Tom took my money, my health, and now he’s trying to take my queen!

C.: No, Tucker, it’s not like that. Tom was really sorry about what happened to you. And he’s really smart. Do you know how much money he has?

Tux.: I do. That’s why I was so irritated at him trying to take the money I earned by catfighting and gambling with it. He takes my money and my queen. We’re through…

C.: Tucker, it’s not like that. Tom says that you’re his only friend, and he thinks of you as a brother. He really wants to make things right. That’s why he gave me this big check to give to you. He said that you could fill in the amount, anything up to his full fortune, which he says is forty million dollars now. I can't counnt that high, so I just took his word for it.

Tux.: I just want what I’ve earned. Maybe he and I can still be friends, but, after I cash this check, I’m done working for Tom, or doing anything for money. I’m retired, as of now.

C.: That’s great, Tucker. Now, we can plan our wedding!

Tux.: Not so fast, Cal.E. You went and spent the night with the cat I considered to be my arch rival at the time. I’m…not sure that I can trust you.

C.: Tucker, you’re tired and under the influence of narcotics. Please don’t make any rash decisions until you get out of the hospital and on your feet again. Then, you and I can discuss our plans.

Tux.: The wedding’s not the only thing I’m rethinking. I’m behind on my studies, and I’m questioning whether I need another degree, now that I have all this money!

C.: tucker, when we started dating, you said that you were studying to become a more well-rounded cat. Just because you now have a lot of money doesn’t mean you need to stop improving yourself. I fell in love with the ambitious Tucker, but whatever you decide to do I will support.

Tux.: Well, I need to catch up on my studies, and I think we need to get re-acquainted. Maybe we should put the wedding off for a few months.

D.: If…you think that’s best, Tucker. I suppose I can keep my job at The Kennel until you’re ready.

Tux.: I think that may be for the best Cal.E. We rushed into this decision. I feel like someone else is writing the script for my life!

C.: ??!!!
