Dream weaverIve just closed my eyes again
Climbed aboard the dream weaver train
Driver take away my worries of today
And leave tomorrow behind
Ooh dream weaver
I believe you can get me through the night
Ooh dream weaver
I believe we can reach the morning light
Fly me high through the starry skies
Maybe to an astral plane
Cross the highways of fantasy
Help me to forget todays pain
Ooh dream weaverI believe you can get me through the night
Ooh dream weaverI believe we can reach the morning light
Though the dawn may be coming soon
There still may be some time
Fly me away to the bright side of the moon
And meet me on the other side
Ooh dream weaver
I believe you can get me through the night
Ooh dream weaverI believe we can reach the morning light

C.: Come on, Jay
and d.c.,
paddle faster. We must find my husband, Tucker Tucker Two, a.k.a. The Cat Fighter Formerly Known As The Tuxedo (who really needs a shorter nickname) Now Simply Known As T Because Triple T Was Already Taken before dark.
d.: Cal.E., one, this is a motorized boat. It will get us to where we’re going much faster if we use the engine rather than rowing. Two, T is a cat with excellent night vision, so why must we find him before dark?
C.: Because, d.c., that’s when all the bad things happen in movies, television shows and books.
d.: Well, Jay Magruder and I aren’t cats, so we don’t have excellent night vision. Here’s an island where we can dock for the night. We’ll resume our search tomorrow, after we’ve all had a good night’s sleep.
C.: It’s four o’clock in the afternoon in June, in the subtropics. The sun will be up for four and one-half hours, and we’ve only been searching for two hours.
d.: I know Cal.E., but humans are just no good after four in the afternoon.
C.: I thought it was five.
d..: It depends on which time zone we’re in.
C.: ???!!! Well, I can’t drive a boat because I don’t have a boating license. I’m still worried about my husband, though.
d.: Cal.E., we’ll find T, one way or another.
C.: Do you think he’s already dead?
d.: Well…no, but he’ll be okay even if he is.
C.: How can you be so sure?
d.: Because I had a dream…
C.: Like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.?
d.: No, Cal.E. that was more of an ideal. Sadly, almost fifty-one years after Dr. King delivered that speech so eloquently, his ideal has yet to be achieved. However, I’m talking about a literal dream, while I was asleep.
It was not too long after one of my surgeries….
C.: So it was a day that ended in ‘Y’?
d.: Yes, it was in fact a day that ended in ‘Y.’ Anyway, I dreamt that someone picked me up in a car and drove me very slowly to a location that she wouldn’t divulge. When she started to describe the place we were going, though, I became impatient. I wanted to get there as quickly as possible. She told me that I still had plenty of time, but she wanted me to see this place.
We stopped at different places along the way, but eventually got to our destination. As you know, I’ve spent most of my life outdoors. When we got to where we were going, I could see picnic benches with people sitting at them who I had known but had passed. I saw my uncle, but not my aunt, so I asked where she was. My chaperone said that she hadn’t gotten there yet. My aunt died last month, but I had the dream about two years ago.
I saw my cousin who had recently passed, and a few other relatives that I recognized. Then, I saw a whole pack of friendly dogs. As you know, I’m an animal lover, and my beloved German shepherd was leading the pack of dogs. Even though we were all outside, the temperature was ideal, and the dogs didn’t smell bad as far as I know.
C.: Why do you say that?
d.: Because there was a barrier between me and them. My German shepherd recognized me, though, and she seemed to smile at me as she wagged her tail. I wanted to go be with my relatives and the animals I’d lost throughout my life, but my chaperone said that it wasn’t time yet. Then, she told me to get into her car and we left.
C.: So, you think T will be in Heaven if he’s dead?
d.: I’m sure of it, Cal.E., because I believe that someone will want him to be there.
C.: d.c., when you had this dream, was I in the good place?
d.:…That’s all the time we have for today, folks. Please join us tomorrow for another episode of Cal.E.’s Korner.
C.: T., you're alive!
