She left without leavin' a number
Said she needed to clear her mind
He figured she'd gone back to Austin
'Cause she talked about it all the time
It was almost a year before she called him up
Three rings and an answering machine is what she got
If your callin' 'bout the car, I sold it
If this is Tuesday night, I'm bowlin'
If you've got somethin' to sell your wastin' your time, I'm not buyin'
If it's anybody else wait for the tone you know what to do
And P.S., if this is Austin, I still love you
The telephone fell to the counter
She heard but she couldn't believe
What kind of man would hang on that long
What kind of love that must be
She waited three days and then she tried again
She didn't know what she'd say
But she heard three rings and then
If it's Friday night, I'm at the ball game
And first thing Saturday, if it don't rain
I'm headed out to the lake and I'll be gone all weekend long
But I'll call you back when I get home on Sunday afternoon
And P.S., if this is Austin, I still love you
Well, this time she left her number
But not another word
Then she waited by the phone on Sunday evening
And this is what he heard
If your callin' 'bout my heart, it's still yours
I should've listened to it a little more
Then it wouldn't have taken me so long
To know where I belong
And by the way, boy, this is no machine your talkin' to
Can't you tell, this is Austin, and I still love you
I still love you

d.: Okay, here I am at the Moody Theatre in Austin. Cal.E. should be along shortly…oh, there she is.
C.: Howdy partnah, How did you figure out my clue to meet me at this location?
d.: Easily. You and the RoCKats played three songs, but I knew that you were just trying to throw Meow Z. Tongue off if he did start listening to music, so I gathered that you wanted to meet at the fourth largest city in Texas. That’s the state capitol, Austin, behind Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas. If you’d sang four songs, I’d have gone to Fort Worth, where I lived for a while when I moved to Texas. Also, they shoot the show “Austin City Limits” at the Moody Theatre, and you’ve been playing songs as clues with the RoCKats…
C.: I have only one correction to that brilliant hypothesis, d.c. My band is now called the RoCKcats, because we added another member. In addition to me, Cal.E. Kat, the leader and lead singer of the band, we have Rori, Oli, Austin, Tori, Sam, and now Chris, so we changed the spelling of the band’s name.
d.: I see, well, I suppose it’s time to get to work and find a plan to stop Meow Z. Tongue from commandeering all Earth’s resources to power The Planet of the Talking Cats when it runs out of power in one million cat naps. After he does that, I know that he plans to destroy this planet, so we need to stop him quickly. Do you have any ideas?
C.: I do, but they all involve my thirty-third cousin twice removed from the planet HTAE, ELAC. She’ll be along shortly.
d.: Stop calling me shorty and let’s think until she gets here….hmm, since HTRAE is the mirror planet to earth, maybe we could use it to confuse Meow Z. Tongue.
C.: How?
D.: Well, we could use the…
C.: (ring) Hold on, d.c. It’s ELAC. She needs to be here for our meeting. I’ll just tell her where we are, and she can meet us here. Then, you can tell both of us your plan tomorrow on Cal.e.’’s Korner.
