Friday night, it was late, I was walking you home We got down to the gate and I was dreaming of the night Would it turn out right How to tell you girl I want to build my world around you Tell you that it's true I want to make you understand I'm talkin' about a lifetime plan That's the way it began, we were hand in hand Glenn Miller's Band was better than before We yelled and screamed for more And the Porter tunes (Night and Day) Made us dance across the room It ended all too soon And on the way back home I promised you'd never be alone Hurry, don't be late, I can hardly wait I said to myself when we're old We'll go dancing in the dark Walking through the park and reminiscing Friday night, it was late, I was walking you home We got down to the gate and I was dreaming of the night Would it turn out right Now as the years roll on Each time we hear our favorite song The memories come along Older times we're missing Spending the hours reminiscing Hurry, don't be late, I can hardly wait I said to myself when we're old We'll go dancing in the dark Walking through the park and reminiscing

C.: Well, d.c called and said he wouldn’t be helping me with our blog today, because he scored a ticket to the Texan’s game. Spoiler alert: They lost..again. I don’t understand why men on this planet want to play a game that invites injury if little or nothing is at stake. I get that they want to show who has more machismo, but each player will make the same amount of money for playing the game whether his team wins the game or not. Let's make professional sports more entertaining.
Maybe the players should pool all the money they will make for playing the game and put it into a kitty. Then, whichever team wins divides up the kitty amongst the whole team. Of course, the more important players will get most of the money, just like now. But wait, who is more important, the quarterback that throws the ball, or the receiver that catches it? How about the offensive linemen that keep the quarterback from getting creamed on every play? Or the running back that presents a threat besides a pass? Who is the most important person on a football team? Doesn't the defense also deserve credit, if it keeps the other team from outscoring your team?
The planet that I came from is much more advanced than this backwoods outpost. We don’t have sports per se. We do have competitions, though. If two cats are applying for the same job and the employer can’t decide which candidate to hire, the two candidates fight to the death. Not only does this help determine who gets the job, but it also helps keep the limited food supply in check. After the death match, there is one less mouth to feed.
We handle grocery shopping the same way. If two cats on the Planet of the Talking Cats want something and only one of that item is available, then the two cats fight until one is eliminated. That way, there’s no reason to worry about the cat that lost the fight. S/he won’t ever be hungry again.
And hospitals, nurses, and doctors are unnecessary on my planet. It’s survival of the fittest. If a cat is too weak to overcome an illness, then that cat is weakening the gene pool. Why do humans cater to the weak and try to keep them healthy? If all the sick people were eliminated, there probably wouldn’t be any food shortages, so no one would starve to death.
Of course, these rules don’t apply to royalty on my native planet. I was the queen of my planet, so I was able to procure whatever I wanted whenever I needed it. I just had to ask my husband for it. And all the medical cats were assigned to keep royalty alive.
Well, that’s enough reminiscing about my former life. It’s dark now, and I can climb out of this dumpster without being noticed. Please join my co-host and me tomorrow for another episode of Cal.E.’s Corner.
