Cal.E.'s Korner

C.: Well, I’m feeling better, but d.c. won’t be able to pick me .up until he gets off work tonight. To help pass the time until the vet tech takes off my I.V., I’ll let my mind wander and ask some rhetorical questions, like, “If a 100 pound woman gets pregnant by a six foot, six inch, 250 pound man and delivers a healthy eight pound, eight ounce bouncing baby boy nine months later, and she lifts that boy every day until he’s eighteen, will she then be able to pick up a 200 plus pound man, even though she still weighs only 100 pounds? And, more importantly, why would she want to lift a full-grown man?”

And, “Why do the bad guys always talk before they do something bad on television? It would be more efficient if they shot first and asked questions later, wouldn’t it be?” Also, “If a bisexual woman is in a relationship with another woman, and she sleeps with a man, is that, technically cheating?” Also, “If a giant Poodle and a standard Poodle are the same thing, why does the breed go by two different names? Is the whole breed in trouble with the FBI?”

And, “If a dog is a mixed breed, some would refer to him or her as a mutt. Is a mixed breed cat also called a mutt? If not, why not? What is a mixed breed cat called?” Also, “A veterinary assistant is sometimes referred to as a technician. However, a technician for humans is not the same as a nurse. Why is the veterinary technician the only other person to take care of an animal besides a vet? Do humans really need three levels of care when they’re sick, and animals only two? A cat has two more muscles than humans do, and 11 more bones. The vet must know all the muscles and bones of several different animals, but the human doctor and nurse must only know about the human body. So, shouldn’t there be more levels of care for animals than humans?”

Also, “Is there any real difference between a bobcat and a lynx? Isn’t it like calling a donkey a borough or an ass?” Also, “If it was possible to cross a dog with a cat, would the resulting offspring be a cog or a dat?” And, “Is it really possible for d.c. to take care of both humans and animals at The Kennel?”
