[Verse 1]
Leavin' home, out on the road
I've been down before
Ridin' along on this big ol' jet plane
I've been thinkin' about my home
But my love light seems so far away
And I feel like it's all been done
Somebody's tryin' to make me stay
You know I've got to be movin' on
[Chorus]
Oh, oh, big ol' jet airliner
Don't carry me too far away
Oh, oh, big ol' jet airliner
'Cause it's here that I've got to stay
[Verse 2]
Goodbye to all my friends at home
Goodbye to people I've trusted
I've got to go out and make my way
I might get rich, you know, I might get busted
But my heart keeps calling me backwards
As I get on the 707
Ridin' high, I got tears in my eyes
You know you got to go through hell
Before you get to heaven
C.: Hey, d.c., did you get to meet your president?
d.: No, Cal.E., I just went on a tour of the White House with my family.
C.: So, no accommodation for saving that guy’s life?
d.: No, Cal.E. I didn’t do it for that, anyway. It’s an obligation that all medically trained people must help someone in need of assistance if we possibly can.
C.: Okay, well, did you at least enjoy your trip to the nation's capitol?
d.: I did. I got to see a lot of interesting things.
C.: Did you like the people?
d.: Not really. Do you remember how much I disliked New York City?
C.: Yes.
d.: Well, if you gave me a choice between going back to either city, I’d choose New York. The people here are so full of themselves that they have more
crap in them than all the ranches and cow pastures in Texas combined.
C.: Well, Washington is where most of the politicians live…
d.: And then there’s the politicians.
But, I’m flying home now, so we can write our blog together tomorrow. How are you and ELAc doing?
C.: We’ll talk about that tomorrow, d.c. Right here on Cal.E.’s Korner.
