C.: Well, d.c. is on his second honeymoon with his wife, Eudora, so I will be doing this blog alone today. Consequently, I will bring you some excerpts from my journal that I started when I first landed on your planet.
Supreme Commander of this CORNER of the Universe, day whatever (I AM a CAT, and I can only count to two!)
This is a strange planet, indeed. The animals that are in charge of this planet do not seem to care about the appearance of it. They build new residences in places that formerly housed other animals and grew crops for their consumption. Not only do they do that, but they eliminate all plant life before they build their houses on this unspoiled land. It seems wasteful that so many of the older houses are abandoned and/or destroyed. Those houses would be a good place for humans to live. They could then stop “progressing” into the land that was formerly used to grow food as well as being used for pleasant activities such as hunting, fishing, dirt bike riding and hiking.
What is even sadder than the “progress” of human beings is that they do not care much for each other. That is, if the human’s fur is a different color from the other humans, or if one human simply disagrees with what another human says or claims to be true. They will shout and argue with each other or do worse than that. Some humans use weapons to kill other humans.
Sometimes this is “legal,” because it happens during what humans call “war.” That is when humans disagree about silly things like who is in charge of what part of the planet, or whose religious or economic policy is more feasible. It is a sad site for my weary eyes to see.
This post is making me too sad to continue. Too many people and other species are being killed for no reason other than petty arguments and dissatisfaction with the way other people choose to live their lives. I will post another excerpt from my journal tomorrow. Hopefully, I will see the good that some on this planet do and be able to write about that.
If you have a story about an act of a “Good Samaritan” I would like to hear it. Please post it in the “comments” section of this blog. Some encouraging stories would be helpful to lift everyone’s moods in the present environment.
