d.: I wonder what is going on with Cal.E.? she didn't answer the phone when I called her earlier. I hope she is okay. I will try to call her again. (Ring)
C.: Hello? d.c. is that you?
d.: Yes, and how are you on this fine Friday evening?
C.: I put that Beatles' song on for a reason. I HAVE been working like a dog! So have all of my coworkers.
d.: What happened?
C.: Well, the kitchen was running behind with their meals. The cook wanted to cook the chicken until it was not red anymore. I said that dogs and cats can eat raw meat, so why cook it so long. And...
d.: All the animals got sick.
C.: Yes, how did you know?
d.: Because, Cal.E. Once pets start eating cooked meat, they lose their ability to digest raw meat. After a time, the owner must feed them cooked meat. ESPECIALLY if it is a poultry product. It is not good for anyone or anything to consume raw poultry meat.
C.: I should have trusted the cooks in the kitchen. They have been doing their jobs much longer than me. All the animals began to throw up and have diarrhea and mess up their cages. We worked through all of our breaks and helped the next shift when they came in until we got the kennel cleaned up. It was horrible. But, honest, d.c., I thought cats and dogs could eat raw poultry!

C.: I learned NOT to tell other people how to do their jobs today!
