He was born in the summer of his 27th year Coming home to a place he'd never been before He left yesterday behind him, you might say he was born again You might say he found a key for every door
When he first came to the mountains his life was far away On the road and hanging by a song But the string's already broken and he doesn't really care It keeps changing fast and it don't last for long
But the Colorado rocky mountain high I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky The shadow from the starlight is softer than a lullabye Rocky mountain high (Colorado) Rocky mountain high (Colorado)
He climbed cathedral mountains, he saw silver clouds below He saw everything as far as you can see And they say that he got crazy once and he tried to touch the sun And he lost a friend but kept the memory
Now he walks in quiet solitude the forest and the streams Seeking grace in every step he takes His sight has turned inside himself to try and understand The serenity of a clear blue mountain lake
And the Colorado rocky mountain high I've seen it raining fire in the sky Talk to God and listen to the casual reply Rocky mountain high (Colorado) Rocky mountain high (Colorado)
Now his life is full of wonder but his heart still knows some fear Of a simple thing he cannot comprehend Why they try to tear the mountains down to bring in a couple more More people, more scars upon the land
And the Colorado rocky mountain high I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky I know he'd be a poorer man if he never saw an eagle fly Rocky mountain high
It's a Colorado rocky mountain high And I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky Friends around the campfire and everybody's high Rocky mountain high (Colorado) Rocky mountain high (Colorado) Rocky mountain high (Colorado) Rocky mountain high (Colorado) Rocky mountain high (Colorado) Rocky mountain high (Colorado)

d.: I wonder how Cal.E. is doing with her new job in Denver. She is setting up a program to use working pets in different cities to work as more than just drug and bomb-sniffing dogs. She was having a hard time the last time I talked to her. She should be off work by now. I will call her and see how it is going. (ring)
C.: Hello? d.
.c. Is that you?
d.: Yes, Cal.E. it is me, d.c. How are you on this Star Wars day
C.: ???
d.: It’s May the fourth
C.: I still don’t understand
d.: May the fourth be with your?
C.: ???
d.: You know, the movies. Good versus evil. The force is all-powerful. It can be used for good or evil. One must use it correctly or suffer the consequences.
C.: Oh, like a Kitchen knife. One must always use the correct end, or it will cause more damage than good!
d.: I guess that is the general idea, yes. How are you today?
C.: I am doing better now that I am working alongside my coworkers, showing them what to do and how to do it efficiently. Tomorrow is my antepenultimate day in the city high up in the Rocky Mountains. I will fly beck to Houston on Sunday and do my paperwork then. I do not have time to do it while I am working here, because I must demonstrate proper technique to my coworkers. This job is much more complicated than I thought it would be. I assumed that I would just be barking orders to others, and they would do exactly as I told them to do. It was like herding house cats, though. No one wanted to do what I told them to do.
d.: Not all pets are good at working. Some have the discipline, but not the physical ability or instinct. Others have the physical ability, but not the discipline. I had a German Shepard mixed breed that had the discipline to do whatever I told her to do. She would have been a good working pet, except for one thing. She lost her sense of smell as a puppy when she had distemper. Thankfully, she recovered form it.
One the other hand, Buddy Bones has an excellent nose and still can run very fast, even at thirteen. However, he does not take direction well. He would be hard to train to be anything other than a pet. However, I might have said the same thing about you when I first met you. You are living proof that one can change, if she has the desire to do so.
C.: I HAVE changed. Speaking of which, I must change out of my work clothes now and take a shower. Afterward, I will probably just chill and watch some T.V. NO catnip for me tonight. I must be up early to organize my flow chart for tomorrow.
d.: I must go, too. Hortense, Horace, Eudora and I are going to eat at a new restaurant. I am glad that you have settled into your new routine and are becoming a dependable pet, Cal.E. Bye, bye.
C.: Okay, guys. y’all can come in now. He is off my facetime app. Now, who brought the catnip?
