Oh, hi. I’m baaack. I would like to thank my friend, Mr. d.c.scot for filling in for me yesterday. He is such a very unopinionated soul, isn’t he? He also has a hard time expressing where his loyalties lie. I was very, um, tired yesterday. I almost did not wake up in time to see the first game of the World Series. If Dad had not woken me up, I might still be “asleep.” That is enough about me. The story today is about deceptive animals and humans.
That is a crocodile in the picture. Crocs sometimes lure their prey by acting like something they are not, like a log in the water. The innocent animal will light on the ”log,” looking for a place to rest. The crocodile then rolls over and using his or her strong jaws, consumes the unfortunate animal. Sometimes in one bight.
Now, I will tell you about a human kennel dweller that acted like a crocodile. “Steven” (not his real name, of course) presented himself as a valet at a hospital in the Texas Medical Center. He, somehow, was able to procure a uniform that made him look like the other valets at the hospital. He worked at the job for a few hours. Then, when he was handed the keys to a car that he liked, Steven took off for “parts unknown” in the car. In the human world, that is called Grand Theft Auto. Steven served five years (on a seven-year sentence) because of this transgression. Just think, he might have been able to make enough cash to buy a car legally if he had kept working at his fake job for tips. Valets earn a decent living.
This has been Cal.E. Kat, with more food for thought.
