Cal.E.'s Corner

This is a daily blog told from the perspective of my family's all-time favorite pet, C.E. Kat.

Hi again! That is a hippopotamus in the picture (or hippo to most of us.) Most of us think of hippos as slow, gentle animals. It has most people fooled! Hippos are some of the most aggressive animals on the planet. They will charge and attack anything that they consider to be a threat. Additionally, their skin is almost bulletproof, with a two-inch-thick exterior that is tougher than any boot leather that you will run across. Now, I will tell you about a human kennel dweller that acted like a hippo. On the surface, he appeared to be a big, gentle giant. However, anyone who crossed him would often find himself in Ad. Seg. (or solitary confinement if one is not familiar with prison terms). To put it into layman's terms, the seemingly gentle giant was a snitch. He reported wrongdoings to the human kennel workers. Oddly enough, he was found by the human kennel workers unresponsive one morning. He had been dead for some time. Now the interesting part. The hippo human kennel dweller reported on others' wrongdoings. However, when he died, the human kennel workers found contraband in his possession. NOT just ordinary contraband, though. He had narcotics in his possession. Human kennel dwellers must take their narcotics at the pill window, where the human kennel workers are able to watch them and make sure that they are not selling them to other human kennel dwellers in their dorms. This inmate always took his narcotics (several times a day), at the pill window. Yet, when he died of "natural causes" (according to the coroner's report) he was in possession of a whole month's supply of the narcotic he was taking. Really, Really strange!!!
