Muffin
Hi again. The cute little mixed breed in the picture is Muffin. The story today is more about Muffin’s human than about Muffin because she will be going home soon.
Muffin was brought here when her human’s mom got sick. She had been taking care of Muffin after her son got put in the human kennel. He was put into the human kennel for falsifying documents, not a violent crime. Still, Muffin’s human was sentenced to serve five years in the human kennel because he did something illegal with some legal documents. I’m not sure what. I’m a cat, I cannot read.
Anyway, Muffin’s human’s mom was going to take care of Muffin until her son got out of the human kennel. Then she became ill and could not take care of the dog. She could not find anyone else to take care of Muffin, so she brought her here. Fortunately for Muffin, her human was paroled. He will be home in two weeks. He said that he would take Muffin back home, if his terminally ill mother would help him look after the dog.
You see, Muffin’s human is in a wheelchair. He can walk but says that it causes too much pain. I know that there are a lot of people who fit this description and have legitimate reasons for needing a wheelchair, but the human kennel vet could never find anything wrong with Muffin’s human that would cause him so much pain when he walked. Muffin’s human says that, when he was transferred on a stretcher to the hospital for what turned out to be gas pain, he was dropped six inches onto a padded stretcher. That is what caused him not to be able to walk.
Muffin’s human said that he would walk Muffin to the mailbox every day in his wheelchair. He said that he would be sure to check the mail daily for the weekly check that he was getting for suing the state for his accident. He would also be looking for the narcotics that the state was supposed to send him by mail to relieve his pain from the accident. He asked the human kennel vet to kindly send the pills by mail so that he did not have to ask his mother to drive him to the human kennel to take his daily narcotics.
You humans live in a strange world. That’s all for now, I am overdue for my nap.
