“If you must go through Hell, keep going.”.-Sir Winston Churchill

C.: d.c. what all the quotes from the prime minister of England who was in charge of the country during World War II? By the way, what was it like, living through a world war? Was it worse that living through the Great Depression of the 1930s?

d.: Cal.E., I was not alive during World War II, or the Great Depression. I’m not that old. But, to answer your fist question, Winston Churchill was, in my and many others opinions, the greatest orator of the twentieth century, and I don’t think that there is a close second in that century or this one. Also, I wanted to introduce the subject of mental toughness. To me, endurance athletes likr me not only have fantastic bodies like mine, but we also have the  most mental toughness of anyone on earth, but, I guess y’all don’t have those on your planet, because it’s run by cats.

C,:  d.c., I take exception to that statement. We have the Kitty K,, the largest and most difficult race on the planet, maybe in the universe (or , at least or galaxy, or maybe just our solar system. Come to think of  it, it’s pretty localized, so, it’s the biggest event in my home town -or at least my old neighborhood….No, scratch that. Only the cats on my foster mom and dad’s street competed in this event, and most of the house cats didn’t care to get out of their comfort zone. And the outside cats would only do this event if it was exactly seventy-two degrees, with the humidity being exactly twenty-fiver percent. So, it is the biggest race on Lazy Lane every leap year on The Planet of the Talking Cats, which occurs every thirty-seven years on my planet under ideal conditions on the leap day on my planet, unless the leap day occurs on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.

d.: So, the race was only run on Fridays and the weekend every thirty-seven years under ideal conditions?

C.: Yes, but only if we felt like it.

D.: I’m assuming that, from the name of the race, it was a one kilometer event?

C.: d.c., when you assume, you make an..

Out of u and me. But, no, the race was just run until our rumbas’ batteries gave out. Whichever cat’s rumba went the farthest was awarded a participation trophy, along with all the other cats in the race. It’s uite competitive. Now, what were you going to say, d.c.?

D. That endurance athletes on this planet are the best athletes in the world..yada yada. It’s time for the Warriors-Rockets NBA playoff game to start….

C.: So, that’s all the time we have for today, folks. Please join us tomorrow, right her eon Cal.E.’s Korner. (if we feel like writing it).

LET’S GO ROCKETS!
