Cal.E.'s Korner

All night long

d..: Wow! That was an interesting article I just read. It said that, if one doesn’t keep using his or her brain to keep learning, the brain declines from the time it’s fully mature at twenty-five the rest of one’s life. It’s a good thing that I keep taking these nursing courses. Otherwise, my brain would have been declining for (ring).

“Oh, hi, Cal.E., what’s going on?”

C.: Well, last night when we talked, you sounded upset. Are you still upset about what that podcaster had to say about t. Puppy Katt?

d.: Oh, that. It was basically a misunderstanding. The podcaster is a cat, and he doesn’t like dogs very much.

C.: What did the new podcaster for the Astros’ D League team, Clawed Cushion, have to say last night that had you so upset, then, may I ask?

d.: You may.  I couldn’t disagree with anything he said, because it’s all true.

Clawed said that T. Puppy was a Parti animal. That’s correct. T. Puppy is a two -toned Poodle. Poodles with that coloring are known as Partis. And, she is, technically, a dog, which is an animal (although he’d have a hard time convincing her of that). He also said that next year’s centerfielder would be a real dog in the outfield. That’s also correct, she is a dog. He said that she was really quick. That, too, is correct. She was the fastest player on her triple z league team.

The part that I was upset about, though, I clarified with her physical therapist. Clawed said that she liked to stay out all night. That, too, is correct. She was out of her kennel all night getting electrical stimulation treatment on her left hind leg to help it heal faster, and it seems to be working well because she isn’t limping anymore. With the combination of that and her work in the pool dog paddling, she should be good to go by next spring. She’ll be the new centerfielder for the Dickinson Dogs.

What are you up to, Cal.E.?

C.: Well, I had an interview with Meow Z. Tongue yesterday to see if I was mentally competent to hold the position of Ruler of the Planet of the Talking Cats. I’m waiting on his call now to let me know what the results of my mental competency tests were.

d.: And, does that have you worried?

C.: No, why?

d.:…That’s all the time we have for today, folks. Please join us tomorrow for another episode of Cal.E.’s Korner.
