The Milky Way Galaxy; Sometime in the Twenty-first Century (that's close enough for a cat)
Planet Earth Discovery, day four
Big Red and his brothers, Curly and Blue Eyes are asleep. When Mom and Dad go to bed, I will continue my discovery of this strange planet. I am REALLY tired, though. Big Red and his two brothers like to play. I was surprised to learn that I actually enjoy this activity, but it IS tiring. You see, in Earth years, I am 108 years old. I am NOT a kitten anymore, but my Earth body seems to resemble a small Earth cat. Apparently, they have a lot of energy and like to play with humans. I can also sit on a human's lap and make a sound that they seem to enjoy. Humans call it "purring." It IS a pleasant sound. Maybe that is why, when things, or something (like a car) is running smoothly, humans say that it is "purring like a kitten."
Mom and Dad decided to retire early. Dad seems happy about that. I MUST continue my research, in spite of my fatigue. I just need something to keep me going. Where is that plant? Oh, there it is! I will take JUST enough to keep me going for the night. It is a necessary evil to do this. I do NOT enjoy imbibing in this plant's nectar, but I need the energy that it supplies. I need to keep going and going and going...
Now I will just take a little more, and a little more. THAT should do it. Well, maybe not. I need to stay up all night to discover the planet. I will just take this plant with me to my bed in the garage. I just need to pull it out of this pot and... Okay, now, I have the plant accessible to me whenever I need it. I will just discover this little corner of the universe now, after just ONE MORE BITE. Now, what was I going to do? Oh, yes, experiment with Earth food and plants to see what effect they have on my superior body. I will just lay down and take a little nap first...zzzzzzz
