C.: Bazinga! I bet y’all didn’t see that coming. Anyway. D.c. hasn’t sent me today’s script, either. I suppose he’s listening to the Joe Groan Show on KEEP?KEEN Conroe Ct-N-Shoot. I should be just about over, so I’ll call d.c. and see what he’s up to.(ring)

He usually answers the phone on the first ring, but he must have his phone in silent mode while he listens to his favorite blogger on the radio.

d.: Hello.

C.: Oh, hi, d.c. Why did you call me?

d.: Cal.E., you called me…

C.: That’s impossible. I’ve been taking these supplements that help you remember things…as long as you remember to take them. Let’s seel….one hundred, hundred, one hundred and two...it seems that I haven’t taken any of these. If only there was a way to remember to take my supplements.

d.: Why don’t you write yourself a note?

C.: I will, but then I would need to put the note in a place that I can remember.

d.: Why don’t you take the supplement now, then write the note. After about thirty minutes, when the supplement has taken effect, then put your pills in an easy to remember place.

C.: That’s a good idea. I’ll do that now. Toodaloo.

d.: Well, at least now I can listen to the end of the Joe Groan Show

JG: Oh, oh, oh. I just heard that it’s the one-hundredth anniversary of the Harlem Globe Trotters.

I mean, one must be at least eighteen years old to play for them. So, If that’s true, those players are all at least one-hundred and eighteen years old. Wow! And they can still play basketball at an elite level? Pickle ball maybe but basketball?

It’s a little-known fact that Wilt “the Stilt” Chamberlain played for the Globe Trotters in what would have been his senior year at the University of Kansas. That was because, at the time, the NBA wouldn’t draft any plyers who hadn’t spent four years in college. After his junior year in college, Wilt got tired of playing for only books, tuition, and a small amount of spending money (allegedly). He must have enjoyed himself, though, because he played with the Globe Trotters for several summers after he joined the NBA…

Hey, wait a minute. Wilt, the only player ever to score in triple digits in an NBA game, died over twenty-five years ago. That can mean only one thing: the present Harlem Globe Trotters are imposters!

We interrupt this segment of the Joe Groan Show to keep the host from making a complete fool of himself.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled program.

Remember folks, you heard this revelation right here on the Joe Groan Show.

I’ll see you next time on the same bat channel at (roughly) the same bat time. Until then, I’m Joe Groan, and you are somebody else.
