Cal.E's Korner

That's great, it starts with an earthquake

Birds and snakes, and aeroplanes

And Lenny Bruce is not afraid

Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn

World serves its own needs

Don't mis-serve your own needs

Speed it up a notch, speed, grunt, no, strength

The ladder starts to clatter

With a fear of height, down, height

Wire in a fire, represent the seven games

And a government for hire and a combat site

Left her, wasn't coming in a hurry

With the Furies breathing down your neck

Team by team, reporters baffled, trumped, tethered, cropped

Look at that low plane, fine, then

Uh oh, overflow, population, common group

But it'll do, save yourself, serve yourself

World serves its own needs, listen to your heart bleed

Tell me with the Rapture and the reverent in the right, right

You vitriolic, patriotic, slam fight, bright light

Feeling pretty psyched

It's the end of the world as we know it

It's the end of the world as we know it

It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine

Six o'clock, T.V. hour, don't get caught in foreign tower

Slash and burn, return, listen to yourself churn

Lock him in uniform, book burning, bloodletting

Every motive escalate, automotive incinerate

Light a candle, light a motive, step down, step down

Watch your heel crush, crush, uh oh

This means no fear, cavalier, renegade and steering clear

A tournament, a tournament, a tournament of lies

Offer me solutions, offer me alternatives and I decline

It's the end of the world as we know it (I had some time alone)

It's the end of the world as we know it (I had some time alone)

It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine (time I had some time alone)

I feel fine (I feel fine)

It's the end of the world as we know it (time I had some time alone)

It's the end of the world as we know it (time I had some time alone)

It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine (time I had some time alone)

The other night I drifted nice continental drift divide

Mountains sit in a line, Leonard Bernstein

Leonid Brezhnev, Lenny Bruce and Lester Bangs

Birthday party, cheesecake, jellybean, boom

You symbiotic, patriotic, slam but neck, right, right

It's the end of the world as we know it (time I had some time alone)

It's the end of the world as we know it (time I had some time alone)

It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine (time I had some time alone)

It's the end of the world as we know it

It's the end of the world as we know it

It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine (time I had some time alone)

It's the end of the world as we know it (time I had some time alone)

It's the end of the world as we know it (time I had some time alone)

It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine (time I had some time alone)

It's the end of the world as we know it (time I had some time alone)

It's the end of the world as we know it (time I had some time alone)

It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine (time I had some time alone)

It’s the End of the World as We Know It (and I Feel Fine) lyrics © Universal Music Publishing Group

C.: Well, I’m awake, alert and oriented to person, place, time and situation, so I’ll call d.c. I want to find out why he wants the puppy’s itinerary. While I’m waiting for d.c. to answer the phone, I’ll let my mind wander. (Ring) d.c. is writing a series of books about a detective. His name is Jay Magruder. I don’t know where d.c. came up with that name (ring), but, if I were writing a series about a hard-boiled detective, I would have the perfect name for him: Lance Boil (hehe) (ring). His nickname would be (rii) Oh, hi d.c., why did you want the puppy’s itinerary, may I ask?

d.: Because she has so much energy, and I don’t. If I take a little blood from her and she gets the same amount of mine, I’ll be more energetic and she’ll settle down.

C.: d.c., is this even feasible? I know that you’re a nurse, but taking blood from a dog may be different than taking blood from a human.

d.: It is. It’s much easier, if the canine is sedated. A dog has one large vein running down the back of its leg. I took blood from a sedated dog when I was in high school, so I’m sure that I could do that now.

C.: Are human and canine blood compatible?

d.: Well, from what I’ve read, it will be okay to do one time. That’s all I’m going to try to do. If this doesn’t work, I’ll need to think of something else.

Cal.E., can you do me a favor and come next door, please?

C.: Y??!!

d.: Because I’m a little out of practice with taking blood from an animal, but taking blood from a cat is almost like taking blood from a dog. I have an I.V. set ready to go. Just watch this You Tube video by putting it in your search engine CNN and then come over to my house.

I’m sure it won’t take but two or three sticks. Four or five at the most. It’s not the end of the world if I stick you a few times, is it? Cal.E.? Where are you?
