That's great, it starts with an earthquake
Birds and snakes, and aeroplanes
And Lenny Bruce is not afraid
Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn
World serves its own needs
Don't mis-serve your own needs
Speed it up a notch, speed, grunt, no, strength
The ladder starts to clatter
With a fear of height, down, height
Wire in a fire, represent the seven games
And a government for hire and a combat site
Left her, wasn't coming in a hurry
With the Furies breathing down your neck
Team by team, reporters baffled, trumped, tethered, cropped
Look at that low plane, fine, then
Uh oh, overflow, population, common group
But it'll do, save yourself, serve yourself
World serves its own needs, listen to your heart bleed
Tell me with the Rapture and the reverent in the right, right
You vitriolic, patriotic, slam fight, bright light
Feeling pretty psyched
It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine
Six o'clock, T.V. hour, don't get caught in foreign tower
Slash and burn, return, listen to yourself churn
Lock him in uniform, book burning, bloodletting
Every motive escalate, automotive incinerate
Light a candle, light a motive, step down, step down
Watch your heel crush, crush, uh oh
This means no fear, cavalier, renegade and steering clear
A tournament, a tournament, a tournament of lies
Offer me solutions, offer me alternatives and I decline
It's the end of the world as we know it (I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it (I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine (time I had some time alone)
I feel fine (I feel fine)
It's the end of the world as we know it (time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it (time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine (time I had some time alone)
The other night I drifted nice continental drift divide
Mountains sit in a line, Leonard Bernstein
Leonid Brezhnev, Lenny Bruce and Lester Bangs
Birthday party, cheesecake, jellybean, boom
You symbiotic, patriotic, slam but neck, right, right
It's the end of the world as we know it (time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it (time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine (time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine (time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it (time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it (time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine (time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it (time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it (time I had some time alone)
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine (time I had some time alone)

C.: Hey, puppy, cats rule, dogs drool. That’s right, I speak dogma. You aren’t fast enough to catch me. Na na boo boo. Oh, wow, she is fast. You did well, puppy, now here’s a treat for you, if you’ll go get it. It’s on your bed in your kennel. Now, I’ll just close this.
Okay, now that I’ve exercised the puppy and put her in her kennel for the evening like Mom and Dad asked me to do, I’ll start the blog. Since d.c. is working all weekend, he asked me to write the blog solo.
Yesterday, d.c. may have given y’all the impression that he’s a bad person. He was doing that to make a point. That point is that no one is completely good, or completely bad, and things aren’t always as they seem to be. I’ve read all of d.c.’s manuscripts that he’s written so far for his “Magruder Mysteries” series, and I’m usually surprised at the end. People enjoy being entertained that way, because real life is seldom cut and dried. We take detours in life because they are necessary. Life isn’t linear, it’s full of one million left turns. Sometimes, taking that turn works out for the best, and sometimes it doesn’t.
d.c. describe the protagonist in his series, Jay Magruder, as “everyman.” I think that’s accurate. Jay has good intentions, but often makes the situation worse by his actions. And, (spoiler alert) when he meets the right person to share his life with, he makes better choices. That, I think, is realistic. I hope that my marriage to Tucker Tucker Two goes well, but there are no guarantees in this life. Speaking of which, I have one million things to do before my wedding. It’s…two weeks from tomorrow? Yikes! I need to get busy and complete my plans for that day, so I’ll close with a thought from one of d.c.’s manuscripts. This is from the last one, where we learn the whole story.
As is a tale, so is life: Not how long it is, but how good it is, is what matters.-- Seneca
