Cal.E.'s Korner

Dropkick me, Jesus, through the goalposts of life End over end, neither left, nor the right Straight through the heart of them righteous uprights Dropkick me, Jesus, through the goalposts of life

Make me, oh, make me, Lord, more than I am Make a piece in your master game plan Free from the earthly temptation below I've got the will, Lord, if you've got the toe

Dropkick me, Jesus, through the goalposts of life End over end, neither left, nor the right Straight through the heart of them righteous uprights Dropkick me, Jesus, through the goalposts of life

Bring on the brothers who've gone on before And all of the sisters who've knocked at your door All the departed, dear loved ones of mine And stick 'em up front in the offensive line

Dropkick me, Jesus, through the goalposts of life End over end, neither left, nor the right Straight through the heart of them righteous uprights Dropkick me, Jesus, through the goalposts of life

Dropkick me, Jesus, through the goalposts of life End over end, neither left, nor the right Straight through the heart of them righteous uprights Dropkick me, Jesus, through the goalposts of life

Yeah, dropkick me, Jesus, through the goalposts of life End over end, neither left, nor the right

Dropkick Me Jesus lyrics © Screen Gems-emi Music Inc., Black Sheep Music

C.: I don’t have anything to do while I’m off work today, so I’ll call d.c. and see if he wants some company. (Rii) “Oh, hi, d.c., I was wondering what you’re doing today. Since we’re both off work from the kennel and it’s a holiday, we should do something fun if you’re not going to write, run, swim or cycle today."

d.: Well, I’m doing something, but you may not think that It’s fun.

C.: I’m bored, so I willing to do almost anything.

d.: Well, I’m about to go to the library and look something up.

C.: On a holiday?

d.: Yes.

C.: Is the library open today?

d.: The main branch is, but I must hurry to get there before they close. You’re welcome to come if you want to.

C.: I don’t think the library lets cats inside.

d.: They will if you wear this vest with this symbol on it.

C.: Where did you get that?

d.: On the internet. All I must do is say that you’re my emotional support animal, and you can go anywhere with me.

C.: Okay, I’m in.

Later that same day

d.: Now, I just need to find the right book.

C.: Is this it?

d.: No.

C.: Is this it?

d.: No.

C.: Is this it?

d.: No.

C.: Is this it?

d.: No!

C.: What kind of book are we looking for?

d.: It’s called "CVs for Dummies."

C.: And you couldn’t find that on the internet?

d.: Not a copy that my sixty-year-old eyes could read, anyway.

C.: Maybe we need this book, then.

d.: Let’s see, “The Dummies Guide to Books for Dummies.” Yes, this book should be helpful. Yes, here it is. Now, to use this book as a guide to find the book I’m looking for.

C.: Is this it?

d.: No.

C.: Is this it?

d.: No.

C.: Is this it?

d.: No, wait, yes, it is. Thanks, Cal.E., now I just need to go home and read it.

C.: d.c., why do you need this book, may I ask?

d.: Well, I got an offer to send my manuscript to a publisher, but they want a CV. When I was looking for a job in the medical profession, the employers wanted resumes, not CVs. I don’t have any experience with CVs, and I don’t want to dropkick my chance to get this manuscript published.

C.: Okay, just tell me what you want me to do, and I’ll help.

d.: Okay, I need someone to stand over there.

C.: Over here?

d.: A little farther back.

C. Is this far enough?

d.: A little farther back.

C.: Is this far enough?

d.: A little farther back.

C. Is this far enough?

d.: A little farther back.

C.: How about now?

d.: Perfect (slam)

C.: d.c., you closed the front door. I can’t help you from the front porch.

d.: Yes, you can, Cal.E., by standing right there and making sure that no one disturbs me. Now, to find out how to write an author's CV. I only have ten days to do this, so I should get busy. I guess that’s all for today, folks. Please join us tomorrow for another episode of Cal.E.’s Korner.
