C.: Hi, D.C., this is a special day for you, isn’t it?

D.: I’ll say. In addition to having to take a mid-term exam in my class, I had to turn in some paperwork for school immediately afterward. After that, I have a paper due this weekend that is worth as many points as my mid-term exam. I also have another meeting around noon.

C.: Well…That does sound like a lot, but the date for today has special meaning for you and your family, correct?

D.: Well…I’m the only member of my family who lives in the county where the fair is being held, but I did get off work today because there is a parade and the fair opening, so there is that.

C.: That sounds like a good thing since you have so many projects due. It doesn’t seem fair.

D.: Cal.E., what’s going on at the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds

for the next few weeks is the only fair there is in this life. The sooner you understand that, the less stressful your life will be.

C.: Well said, but let’s get back on task. I know that today is a special day for you and your whole family.

D.: Was may be more accurate, but I was pulling your leg.

Yes, today is a special day for my family. It is the day my mother would have turned 94 years old if she had lived another  18 months.
