Cal.E.'s Korner

C.: I must call D.C. to see what he meant by saying he didn’t have much time. (Ring)

D.: Hello

C.: Oh, thank goodness you answered your phone because that means that you’re still alive. I just need to know one thing.

D.: Which is?

C. What did you mean when you said you didn’t have much time? Do you have a terminal illness, one that cannot be treated effectively with the drugs y’all have on this

primitive planet?

D.: No, that’s not it.

C.: Then, are you packing to go on a trip, leaving me to write this blog solo…

I MEANT BY MYSELF, NOT WITH HANS SOLO!

D.: No, that’s not it, either.

C.: Well, did Eudora finally wise up…

I mean, is your marriage in some kind of trouble that would cause you to pack up and leave, and that’s what your doing, packing to leave?

D.: No, that’s not it, either.

C.: Then, please tell me what you meant.

D.: Well, with starting a new job, taking courses to advance my nursing career and trying to get two books on the market, I just don’t have much time to write this blog. At least, not during the week. So, I propose that we just write the blog on the weekends, and days I have off from work.

C.: Where are you working now?

D.: At a public high school.

C.: So, you’ll have a lot of days off, then.

D.: Yes, I suppose I will. This week I have a three-day weekend. I also have another day off during the week. Next month, I get a whole week off. And, I get a week off for Thanksgiving, and two weeks off for Christmas—

C.: I understand the other holidays, but what state or federal holiday occurs next month that would cause the public schools in and around Houston to close for a whole week?

D.: I would tell you, but we’re out of time for today. That’s the end of this cat tai(i)le.

Pleas join us next time for another edition of Cal.E.’s Korner
