C.: d.c. said that he would have a lot of downtime while he was visiting his dad, so he was going to write the blog posts and send them to me. I wonder what happened?

I’ll call him and try to find out.

(ring)

d.: Hello.

C.:  d.c., it’s Cal.E. What happened to the blog posts you were going to write and email to me?

d.: Well, I was going to send them to you, but I got hung up with some technical problems.

C.: Like what?

d.: Well, when the internet connection went out at my dad’s house, it had to be fixed by the people who were available to fix it.

C.: And?

d.: you know where my dad lives now. The only people in the area who were available to fix it were only familiar with dial up connections, so that’s what my dad has at his house. It's only a step or two above a string phone.

C.: I see. And it has taken four days to fix the internet?

d.: No, it’s fixed, but you know how slow dial up connections are…hold on, I need to check and see how long it will be before I can send you the blog posts.

‘Thank you for your patience. You are anow number three in our queue. Estimated wait time is twenty-four hours and thirty-six point seven seconds. If you would like to hang up, we will notify you when you are next in line.”

C.: So, are you going to hang up?

d.: No, I tried that yesterday, and they never called. I went from number five in line to number fifty-five. I’m not taking any chances this time.

C.: I see. Well, you answered my question, but we have a little bit of time now, so could you text me the scripts so I can post them?

d.: I can’t do that, Cal.E., I might miss my chance if someone hangs up because they’ve been waiting too long. I can’t take that chance.

C.: So, I guess we’re out of time for today, then. That’s the end of this cat ta(i)le.
